Things drivers ask before applying.
Which vehicle will I be driving?+
In most cases, a Suzuki S-Presso — economical, easy to drive, and well-suited to e-hailing. Depending on availability and your performance, you may also be assigned a Suzuki Dzire, Ciaz, or Ertiga. Every vehicle is fully licensed, insured, regularly serviced, and tracked. You don't pick the model — you'll be assigned a specific vehicle during onboarding.
How are shifts assigned?+
You'll work 4 to 6 shifts per week, depending on vehicle availability and your performance. This is permanent, full-time employment, so the schedule is regular — not driving when you feel like it. We agree on your shift pattern during onboarding, and consistent performance opens up more hours over time.
When do I get paid?+
Monthly, at month end, directly into your bank account, with a payslip. You'll see your trip revenue share, fuel savings bonus, and any performance rewards itemised on every payslip — so you always know exactly how the number was reached.
What happens if there's an accident or damage?+
The vehicle is fully insured. There are three scenarios: Not your fault — your excess is capped at R3,000; anything above that is shared between you and Fleetly. At fault — the excess is on you. Wear-and-tear and routine maintenance — always on us. We walk you through the exact numbers during onboarding so there are no surprises.
How long until my first shift?+
Typically 5 to 10 days from application to your first shift. The fastest start: have your licence, PrDP, and Uber profile ready to send through on the screening call. The longest delay is usually waiting for a document — so the more sorted you are upfront, the quicker you're on the road.
